16.06.2025

On June 11–12, 2025, Professor Justyna Patalas-Maliszewska, Deputy Rector for Science and International Cooperation, represented our university at the meeting of the University Internationalisation Committee and the prestigious European University Alliances Forum, held at the University of Wrocław as part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The event brought together representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament, the academic community, and members of 65 European University Alliances, representing over 570 universities from across Europe. The Forum provided a space for dialogue on the role of university alliances in shaping a competitive and innovative European knowledge area. Key topics included the development of joint educational programs, academic mobility, long-term funding, and student involvement in the internationalisation of universities.

The Forum was opened by Marcin Kulasek, Minister of Science and Higher Education, who emphasized the importance of the European Universities Initiative (EUI) as a tool for building transnational cooperation, innovation, and quality in research and education. Speakers also included representatives of the European Commission and leaders of Polish universities.

The University of Zielona Góra’s participation in the event provided an opportunity to exchange experiences, build new international partnerships, and contribute to shaping the future of European higher education.
