The Institute of Mechanical Engineering has become a partner institution of a network with the title “Engineering as a language of communication in Europe”. A total of 52 units from Central and Eastern European countries participate in the partner network. The main coordinator is professor Krzysztof Rokosz from the Department of Electronics and Informatics at the Koszalin University of Technology. The aim of this CEEPUS network is to build channels of communication and cooperation between engineers from different disciplines, as well as the possibility of creating Interdisciplinary Engineering Teams.
As is well known, a lot of experience is now needed in technical disciplines applicable to a wide range of complex problems. Hence, engineers should be prepared to work at the interface of two or more disciplines - responding to the demands of industry and science.
The main task of the network is to engage teachers and students from the partner institutions to create team projects. Thanks to the engineering knowledge and soft skills (the ability to work in an international team), all students in their future careers will be able to communicate freely and work in international companies and continue their studies, among others, with a PhD at any university in the world.
Plans for 2023-2024 include:
The project also includes international exchanges of academics, regular and PhD students. The project coordinator from the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and contact person is Professor Justyna Patalas-Maliszewska and Małgorzata Śliwa, PhD. All those interested, representing relevant scientific disciplines, are encouraged to participate in the project.
