From March 3rd to 7th, 2025, the University of Zielona Góra came alive with Orientation Week – a special event designed to welcome international students and help them integrate into their new academic environment. For the summer semester, 115 students arrived from countries including China, Nigeria, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. A week full of activities, meetings, and unforgettable moments became the perfect start to the semester for Erasmus+ participants.

The first day began with an official welcome session, during which the International Cooperation Office of the University and the ESN UZ Association introduced the students to the university's structure, study programs, and upcoming events. After the presentations, a guided tour of Campus A followed, where staff from the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy organized fascinating science shows. The students witnessed experiments that sparked their curiosity and inspired them to further explore the world of science.

On the second day, the students went on a sightseeing tour of Zielona Góra, which concluded with a city game centered around searching for the “Bachusiki” – charming little statues that are symbols of the city. It was not only great fun but also a chance to learn about local history and culture. Exploring the city together helped create a spirit of camaraderie and friendship among the participants.

The third day focused on the practical aspects of academic life. Students visited Campus B and the University Library, where they became familiar with available academic resources and the many opportunities offered by the university. The information gained that day will undoubtedly make their everyday life at the University of Zielona Góra easier.

On the fourth day, participants went on a trip to the Muskau Park – one of the region’s most beautiful natural heritage sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walk through the picturesque paths and gardens provided a perfect moment of relaxation and a chance to discover the charm of the local landscape.

Orientation Week 2025 concluded with a spectacular international dinner, during which students prepared traditional dishes from their home countries. It was a true celebration of flavors, cultures, and connection – a moment that will remain in the memories of all participants for a long time.
